How to list Real Estate for sale or rent on real-estate.net.au: Step by Step

Don’t you just hate it when people say things are easy, when you just don’t get it? So do I. That’s why I wrote this  article on how to post an ad [list real estate for sale or rent] on real-estate.net.au. Don’t worry, the process is a lot easier that this long list suggests, because I hate it when people leave out steps, because they think it trivial.

From the Main Page:

1. Select the “post an ad” button. This is the right hand side orange button labelled Post an Ad on the red horizontal navigation bar. This will take you to the first page Submit a list form.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the form and select a category from the drop down list that is revealed when you select the down arrow button, just left of the orange GO button.
3. Scroll down this list till you find the category that is where you want to place your listing ad.
4. Select the line, and it will show in the text box.
5. Then select the Go button. This will take you to the next window where you will see the form to complete for the category you have selected. [Many categories use the same form, and many have unique forms for that category.]
6. Each row [field] of the form will have a Label.
7. If the label has a red asterisk, you must complete that line.
8. If the label does not have a red asterisk it is option, so you can complete or not as you see fit.
9. To the right of the label you will see a small blue button with a question mark on it. This is a tool tip. Clicking this once will show a direction on how to fill in that section.
10. Where you see –select– in a text box, select the drop down arrow to reveal the selections and select the best line that meets your need.
11. Continue down the form completing each row as required.
12. In the description text area. Tell us all about your listing that was not covered in the fields you answered above.
13. Give at least one tag, as these help you being found. What’s a tag? select the “tag” field tool tip for the answer.
14. Images are optional, but important for customers! We allow up to 4 images [photos or drawings] to be uploaded per listing.
15. To upload an image. Select the browse button on the right of image one text box, and select the images you want to upload from your own computer. [You will need to have these photos, and know where they are filed to upload them. So make sure that you have them ready.]
16. Once you have the first image selected and uploaded, select any other photos you want to upload related to the listing.
17. Once this is done select “continue” at the base of the form. This will bring you to the completed form for you to check.
18. Check all the details to ensure they are correct.
19. Rule and Guidelines.Near the bottom of the form you will see a text area containing our Rules and Guidelines. Please spend the time you need to understand these as these are the basis on which we accept your listings. Whilst we are easy to get along with, not following these rules can have you banned. [We don't like spammers.]
20. Once you understand our rules and accept them, select proceed. This should take you to the success message and the third part of the form.
21. Your real estate listing will show once we have reviewed it and accepted it.
